The independent review of the investment in and administration of the Animal Welfare Act 2002 has been completed and the Report was tabled in State Parliament by the Minister for Agriculture and Food.

The Report makes 19 recommendations in the areas of policy and legislation, governance and administration, compliance, regional coverage, value for money and resourcing. Recommendations from the Report highlight opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of animal welfare regulation, which will lead to better animal welfare outcomes.
