A list of current Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 management plans in Western Australia.

A management plan is issued to provide for the control of a declared pest in an area. A management plan must:

  1. Identify the area to which the plan relates.
  2. Set out the purposes of the plan.
  3. Set out the practices to be followed under the plan.
  4. Specify any obligations that are imposed on owners, occupiers or other persons for the purposes of the plan.

Stable fly

Stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans) is a declared pest under section 22 of the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 (BAM Act) for the following areas:

  • the Cities of Armadale, Cockburn, Joondalup, Kwinana, Rockingham, Swan and Wanneroo; the Shires of Capel, Chittering, Gingin, Harvey, Kalamunda, and Serpentine-Jarrahdale; and the portion of the Shire of Murray described as the Harvey Coastal Plain Catchment State Planning Policy No. 2.

The management plan sets out the measures to be taken to control stable fly in the areas where it is a declared pest.

The Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Stable Fly) Management Plan 2019 was published in the Western Australian Government Gazette No. 127 (3 September 2019). This updated plan replaces the Stable Fly Management Plan 2016.

The Stable Fly Management Plan 2019 includes the control measures from the previous plan as approved measures for a period of two years. This will allow for the transitioning from the old plan to the updated plan measures. Periodically the Stable Fly Management Plan 2019 may be modified with approved measures to allow for new measures and/or control methods to be adopted.

To ensure the integrity of the Stable Fly Management Plan 2019, only new measures and/or control methods that can be proven to result in similar control rates will be adopted.

Fruit fly

Fruit Fly (Ceratitis capitata) is a declared pest under section 22 of the BAM Act. The area to which the management plan relates is:

  • the areas of the State comprised within the local government districts of the Shires of Swan, Mundaring, Kalamunda, Gosnells, Armadale, and Serpentine/Jarrahdale.

The Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Fruit Fly) Management Plan 2013 was published in the Western Australian Government Gazette No. 202 (12 November 2013).
