New technology to deliver new market opportunities for WA fresh produce
Organisation: vegetablesWA
Grower Group R&D Grant amount: $340,000

New technology has emerged in recent years to preserve the true flavours of fresh foodstuffs.

vegetablesWA with its project partner Manjimup-based food processors Fresh Produce Alliance, will apply this new technology to take nutritionally-sound but currently unmarketable fruit and vegetables, and turn them into value-added, uniquely West Australian food products.

Developing diverse options for the use of previously unmarketable fruit and vegetables will increase the value of the food industry in WA and increase access to new domestic and export markets.

The $17.4 million Grower Group R&D Grants Program is a major component of the Agricultural Sciences R&D Fund managed by DAFWA.
