Production of high quality free range pork
Organisation: Pork Innovation WA Inc
Grower Group R&D Grant amount: $413 500

Pork Innovation WA is looking to assist Western Australian producers to establish a consistent supply and quality of free range (FR) pork in WA to help secure existing markets and encourage investigation of new market opportunities, particularly in export.

Research will be undertaken to understand key drivers of demand for FR pork in WA, and define FR product characteristics and identify management strategies which can improve consistency of supply and influence eating quality.

Bio-economic modelling will provide net benefits of findings and better inform the value chain of management options for increasing supply and demand of FR pork.

The $17.4 million Grower Group R&D Grants Program is a major component of the Agricultural Sciences R&D Fund managed by DAFWA.
