Seasonal Climate Outlook August 2022

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s (DPIRD) Statistical Seasonal Forecast (SSF) outlook for August to October, 2022 is indicating less than 40% probability of above median rainfall for the South West Land Division.

Located approximately 5km east of the township of Wongan Hills is DPIRD’s Wongan Hills Research Station. DPIRD has a long history of research at the Research Station.

Geraldton is a key regional office for grains and farming systems R&D.

High levels of oestrogenic subterranean clovers occur in some medium to high rainfall pastures of Western Australia. These clovers can contribute to problems with sheep reproduction (often referred to as clover disease) that can reduce productivity and profitability of livestock enterprises.
