The Department of Agriculture and Food’s Small Landholder Information Service (SLIS) will be on hand at this year’s Nannup Flower and Garden Festival.

Development officer Jodie Bowling said visitors to the SLIS display could discuss how to make the most of small property or gardens and gain advice and free information on managing land, orchards and livestock.

“The SLIS display will complement the festival’s fire and water theme and help support landholder’s success by providing information on how to prepare properties for the coming summer months,” Ms Bowling said.

“Small landholders can be assisted or challenged by fire and water, so it’s important they have the necessary information to use these elements to their advantage.

“A range of GardenNotes will also be available to help recognise and manage pests and diseases likely to be found in the backyard.”

People can also register for South West AgMemo or the SLIS e-newsletter detailing up-coming events and vital seasonal and land management information.

All registrations will go into the draw to win a booklet on southern weeds and their control.

The Nannup Flower and Garden Festival will be held on 17-18 August at Nannup Garden Village.
