Saddle-up and gallop over to the Department of Agriculture and Food display at the Bunbury Show’s Horse and Country event on 12 April.

The team from the department’s Small Landholder Information Service (SLIS) will be there with some fun activities and free information on how to make the most of your small property and sustainably manage your land and livestock.

SLIS Manager Jodie Whitfield said the department display was part of the Bunbury Show Rainbow Trail and also featured information on Buy West Eat Best, food safety and livestock identification as well as some children’s activities.

“Come along and test your knowledge with our food safety quiz and have a go at horseshoe tossing,” she said.

“The show is also a great opportunity for landholders, growers and other interested people in the Greater Bunbury region to access the latest agriculture and food information.

“We have lots of material to assist in managing your property and livestock including fencing, water, supplementary feeding and pastures, all of which are necessary to keep animals healthy and safe and an enjoyable part of running your property.

“People can also sign up to receive our free SLIS e-newsletter detailing coming events and vital seasonal and land management information.”

The Bunbury Show is being held on 11 and 12 April at the South West Sports Centre Hay Park, Bunbury.

Free entry is provided by the State Government for children aged 16 and under, when accompanied by a parent.
