I am the communications advisor responsible for communication and marketing activities within the Research Development and Innovation directorate of the department. I work closely with DPIRD scientists and research project leaders to provide strategic communications advice. I work collaboratively with our scientists and senior staff to develop, plan and execute communication strategies that support engagement, awareness and extension of their research.
I am currently involved in the planning and delivery of communication activities for the $20 million Boosting Grains Research and Development project. Through targeted R&D, this project aims to increase on farm grain productivity and profitability and will further expand the departments regionally based research and development capability.
I have over 16 years’ experience providing marketing and communications expertise within Government agencies. I have worked for the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development for the past 5 years. During this time, I have been involved in a variety of projects and have delivered communication outputs that have had a positive impact with our stakeholders.
One of my passions is using social media to drive engagement and awareness. I lead our team in this area and am able to provide social media training and advice to staff.
I have extensive experience in project communications, digital stakeholder engagement, event management, reputation management and the development and implementation of strategic and operational communications.
