The Regional Men's Health Initiative aims to empower men and communities to take responsibility for their wellbeing and health. The program has been successfully operating since 2002 in rural and remote regions of Western Australia.

The Regional Men's Health Initiative focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of men in regional Western Australia by:

  • advocating for positive change concerning men’s wellbeing and health
  • increasing community awareness and promoting the importance of men’s wellbeing and health
  • empowering individuals and communities to develop and maintain support networks
  • providing support mechanisms for men, families and communities affected by traumatic events
  • supporting rural and regional families in progression planning.

Activities under the initiative include:

  • talking about blokes physical, mental and social/spiritual wellbeing (community education sessions)
  • delivering the men's health Fast Track Pit Stop Program (health awareness and listening)
  • advocacy work for men's wellbeing and spreading the organisation’s motto of 'before it all gets too much, talk to a mate!'

The Regional Men's Health Initiative compliments existing country health services and other allied services that support rural men.
