Industry Grants for International Competitiveness

The Industry Grants for International Competitiveness (IGIC) program is a component of the  Agricultural Sciences R&D Fund with investment from Royalties for Regions, and managed by the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia (DAFWA).

The Industry Grants for International Competitiveness program aims to increase the profitability of the agriculture and food industry by building business capability and access to new markets.

The IGIC program is a targeted response to the Fund’s Pathways to Competitiveness report. 

 

Congratulations to the following recipients who have been successful in receiving an IGIC grant.

F&J Taddei  Accelerating Citrus Competitiveness This project will increase the efficiency and expand the capacity available to growers in the Midwest for packing citrus, stonefruit, avocadoes and mangoes for export. $60 000
Esperance Quality Grains  New Export Link This project will support Esperance Quality Grains (EQG) to transition from a local grain handler to an accredited grain exporting business. EQG will work to develop customer relationships and services for grain exported from the Esperance region. Initially this will focus on field peas. A longer term goal is to expand to new crops such as faba beans. $99 000
Fruit West Co-operative Bravo Apple  This project will introduce the Bravo™ apple to high value Asian consumers and define market pathways to consumers. $60 000
Potato Growers Association Seed Potato Competitiveness  The Potato Growers Association will export potato seed to Egypt through a strategic relationship with prominent English and Dutch seed suppliers. The Project will define a strategy, support market visits to Egypt, the UK and the Netherlands to adopt leading scalable growing practices. $67 000
WAFarmers  Certified Export Honey  This project will help to grow certified jarrah and marri honey exports by partnering with distributors and maintaining the authenticity of Western Australia’s unique honeys in high value markets. $100 000
