My role in the department

Andrew is a biometrician (statistician) and works with staff from a wide range of projects to support the design of experiments and accurate analysis and interpretation of data. He currently manages the biometrics project.

My background

Andrew has over 15 years experience as a biometrician with the Department. He has been heavily involved in a number of research projects, including agronomy, soils, crop protection, sheep and dairy production, sheep and cattle worm control, and farm scale experimentation. Andrew has presented over 40 courses covering topics such as design of experiments, analysis of variance, survey design and analysis, pivot tables, GenStat software and the R statistical program.

Andrew has expertise in the design and analysis of agricultural experiments (including farm scale experiments) and surveys.  His expertise in statistical data analysis includes analysis of variance, survey analysis and mixed models. He is an accredited statistician with the Statistical Society of Australia Inc.

Projects

  • Continued biometrics assistance to DPIRD projects in particular research related to the sheep and grain industries.

  • Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences with Honours in Statistics, The University of Western Australia
