My role in the department
Dr Diepeveen is a researcher in the Genetic Improvement program focusing on frost, nitrogen-use and feed grain quality in cereals. These projects are collaboratively funded by DPIRD and GRDC delivering greater grain yields to growers. Dean is also co-leader of the Digital Agricultural Collaboration (DAC) involving several research organisations to improve the agricultural industry with new digital technologies. Dean is an adjunct Professor at Murdoch University and a visiting Associate Professor at Curtin University.
My background
Dr Diepeveen has more than 25 years research experience in the analyses of grain crop research at DPIRD with a further 10 years of medical research analyses at University of Western Australia, Murdoch University and Curtin University. His experience is predominately analytical and phenotype verification using genomics and image analysis.
