Perth Caravan and Camping Show

Western Australian agricultural products are renowned as safe, high-quality products and our biosecurity systems ensure our reputation and status is maintained. The department’s border quarantine checkpoints, intrastate regulatory controls, and surveillance programs help maintain this status, but everyone can play a part.

Community members can help by using the department’s MyPestGuide™ family of apps, which includes MyPestGuide™ Reporter app, three pest identification field guides, a decision tool and a community website. These were developed to encourage the public, industry and government to report observations of any interesting, common, unusual or suspected exotic pests. It also helps to determine the absence of pests across Australia.

WA has strict quarantine measures in place and the department’s Quarantine WA service works hard to prevent the introduction of damaging pests found in other states and territories of Australia. Travellers carrying general food items into and across Western Australia need to be aware of the restrictions in place and help keep the state free of pests and diseases.

Visit the department’s stand to find out more about the MyPestGuide apps and quarantine restrictions that might affect you.
