This reasonably large (30ha) piece of the paddock used to be cropped. The landholder found it to continually return low yields despite the seasons. The soil type is grey clay with many gilgai's which over time increasingly grew barley grass.  The decission was made to fence the area and sow tall wheatgrass, returning it into a useful addition to the farm system.
