Oldman and river saltbush have been sown in alternate rows in a "block planting" at Ongerup. The paddock was cropped previously except for the severe bare salt. After noticing reduced yields around the bare area an assesment revealed a larger portion needed to be treated. The decission was made to sow first with tall wheatgrass and then machine plant the moderate to high areas with saltbush. Once complete, the area was fenced and stock introduced.
