Identification of livestock is required by law under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Identification and Movement of Stock and Apiaries) Regulations 2013 [BAM (IMSA) Regulations].

The regulations also require the use of the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS).

Waxflower is susceptible to a range of foliar diseases. The main problems which occur in commercial plantations and their control are outlined here. Since chemicals for control of plant diseases are constantly changing, growers are advised to seek the latest available information.

The blueberry (Vaccinium sp.) is an evergreen perennial shrub, growing up to 3m tall. White or pink flowers are borne in bell-shape clusters on the shoot tips. The fruit is a many-seeded blue berry, with white or pale green flesh.

Pink eye or infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) is a common and contagious eye condition that affects cattle of all ages. It is most commonly seen in calves and young stock.

Salmonellosis of sheep is an infectious bacterial disease causing illness and death. It results from proliferation of salmonella bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and other organs. Profuse diarrhoea is commonly present and pregnant ewes may abort.

Mangoes are grown commercially in Western Australia from Kununurra in the north to Gingin in the south. They can be grown further south, but mostly for home consumption.
