Kevin commenced as a field assistant with the then Department of Agriculture’s Stoneville Research Station in 1979. He has gained over 40 years' experience working with pome, stone, and citrus crops in the main horticultural regions of Western Australia’s Southwest.

Kevin has been extensively involved in the Australian National Apple Breeding program and the development of several commercial varieties released from that program. He has “Qualified Person” status with IP Australia and has compiled several variety descriptions including the recently released ANABP 01 apple variety sold under the brand name Bravo^®.

During his time atthe department, Kevin has also been involved with several pest and disease incursion responses including apple scab, coddling moth, brown rot, and Queensland Fruit Fly.
