My role in the department

Megan is a Development Officer based in Geraldton. As part of the Farming Systems Innovation team, she supports regional client delivery through developing and maintaining relationships, providing and communicating information products for clients within the agriculture sector and /or agricultural educators.  Megan is also part of the new GRDC-DPIRD Western Farming Systems co-investment, providing support for project management.

My background

Megan Abrahams has 20 years’ experience working with DPIRD in Geraldton, including roles in research, analysis, extension and client engagement with agri-industry. Her work has included economic modelling of farming systems adapting to climate; seasonal variability and salinity; interpreting information from decision support tools to assist grower decision making; and providing information and/or training for industry and agricultural educators. In the recent GRDC/DPIRD investment DAW01512-001 RTX ‘Building crop protection and crop production agronomy R&D capacity in the western region’, she provided project management support leading the communications, extension, monitoring and evaluation components of the project.

Prior to working at DPIRD, Megan worked in molecular biology research at the University of Western Australia, followed by lecturing physical and biological sciences at TAFE in Geraldton.
