Western Australian agtech companies and start-ups can apply for a scholarship to attend evokeAG, the Asia Pacific region’s largest agrifood tech event.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is offering support packages for six agtech businesses to attend the AgriFutures Australia’s evokeAG 2023 Down to Earth conference in Adelaide, from 21-22 February 2023.

The department will have a strong presence at the conference, promoting agtech investment and job opportunities within the WA agriculture sector.

DPIRD Investment Services Manager Susan Hall said the State’s proximity to Asia, strong agricultural sector, clean environment and ease of doing business presented a prime opportunity to attract agritech development and innovation.

“evokeAG is the region’s premier agrifood tech event, bringing together an entire ecosystem to push the boundaries and go on a deep dive into the issues, trends and opportunities that will shape our food and farming systems into the future,” Ms Hall said.

“It is vital that WA has a strong presence, to highlight investment opportunities that exist here, and showcase our innovators and entrepreneurs.

“DPIRD delivers a range of programs to help stimulate and accelerate the development and adoption of agtech in our State.”

Packages valued at $2000 will be available for up to six WA agtech businesses to attend and be involved in DPIRD’s exhibition.

Expressions of Interest are now open and close 5pm, Friday 13 January 2023.
