The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) administers the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007. Since implementation in May 2013, a number of issues in relation to the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Regulations 2013 (the Regulations) have been identified.

DPIRD proposes to amend the Regulations to address these issues and invited feedback on the proposed amendments. The majority of changes are administrative in nature. However, there are also a small number intended to enable the Department to be more responsive, particularly in relation to intra-state biosecurity matters.

A consultation draft of the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Regulations Amendment Regulations 2019 is attached for your reference, as well as consultation document which includes a summary of the proposed changes.

Consultation closed on Friday 1 March 2019, and a summary report has been published. Please contact Anita Wyntje if you have any queries.
