Opuntioid cacti: weed of national significance

Opuntioid cacti (Opuntia species excluding Opuntia ficus-indica, Cylindropuntia species and Austrocylindropuntia species)  have been designated as Weeds of National Significance (WoNS).

Opuntioid cacti are now declared pests in Western Australia further details can be found on the Opuntioid cacti: declared pests page.

This group of cacti has been prioritised at a national level as Weeds of National Significance (WoNS).
