Quarantine

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) works hard to prevent the introduction of exotic pests, diseases and weeds found in other states and territories of Australia.

DPIRD, through Quarantine WA is involved with:

  • Developing and maintaining biosecurity and quarantine legislation including importing requirements.
  • Providing information on export requirements.
  • Providing advice on quarantine matters or potential quarantine risk material.

Please refer to DPIRD's Quarantine web pages for information on importing and exporting potential quarantine risks within Australia.

For information relating to overseas movements please contact the Federal Government’s Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment and the environment in the first instance.
