In this issue’s “Meet the team” article we discuss the team lead and editor Cindy Webster (aka me).

I am a research agronomist based at the Narrogin DPIRD office and was raised on a mixed crop and livestock farm near Pingelly. I now have the privilege of being able to take my own children out to visit the family farm.

In 2005 I graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management (honours).

I have worked at DPIRD since 2006 in the Grains portfolio and was a development officer for several years doing trial work, extending grains information, organising local GRDC Research update events and working with local grower groups.

Before becoming the PestFax newsletter editor I was the editor of the former department e-newsletters called Central Agricultural Region AgTactics and Central Agricultural Region AgMemo.

I began working as the PestFax newsletter editor in 2016 and became project lead in 2018. I also head up the project’s social media on DPIRD’s social media channels, host project webinars and more.

In addition to working in the PestFacts WA team I also work in the DPIRD Crop Protection communications team and produce podcasts for DPIRD’s Grains Convo series, host webinars and work on other exciting extension projects.

I really enjoy communicating crop protection information to the WA grains industry in the most exciting and engaging way possible.

I also have the privilege of leading five brilliant PestFacts WA team members and ensuring we deliver useful tools and services to the WA grains industry. Read more about our service at the DPIRD About PestFacts WA page.
