Ehrlichiosis is a disease of dogs that occurs when a brown dog tick infected with the bacteria, Ehrlichia canis (E. canis), bites a dog. Dogs do not directly transmit the disease to each other. The disease is maintained by a cycle of transmission between ticks and dogs.

Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne disease that occurs in dogs, caused by either the bacteria Anaplasma platys or A. phagocytophila.

Avocado fruits are affected by two diseases: stem end rots and body rots.

The map below shows the current predicted dates of spore maturation and consequently the predicted risk of matching spore release with the susceptible stage of the crop. Spore showers will commence soon after the spores are mature in the fruiting bodies.

The 2019-20 European wasp season closed with 118 nests detected and destroyed in 34 suburbs and 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs). Operations spanned more than 140,000ha with over 4200 traps across 21 LGAs.
