Veterinary chemical control

Q: What is happening with veterinary chemicals?

A: The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) is overseeing reforms to chemicals and plastics regulation. Negotiation is in progress to implement nationally harmonised regulations for the control of agricultural and veterinary chemicals. Amendments to appropriate BAM Act Regulations will be made when the agreement is concluded.

The Hormonal Growth Promotant Regulations are repealed but the existing Regulations for veterinary chemical control will remain unchanged until new nationally harmonised Regulations are agreed.
